Web and app developer job description
- Researching, designing, implementing and managing software application and websites
- Testing and evaluating plugins, coding languages, new programs
- Identifying areas for modification in existing programs and subsequently developing these modifications
- Detect bugs and errors within client websites and applications and work with vendor support to resolve
- Write well designed, reusable, efficient and well tested code
- Complete code reviews and conduct testing to ensure software is of the highest quality
- Deploying software tools, processes, and metrics
- Maintaining and upgrading existing systems
- Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
- Ensure proper communication with clients
- Training users and other developers
- Working closely with other developers, UX designers, business and systems analysts
- Document completed work within ticketing system
- A degree and/or a technical certification in the following fields:
- Computer Science
- Computer Software Engineering
- Software Development
- Web Development
- Graphic Design

- Experience with web services: IIS, HTTP, DNS, Rest/Web API, cPanel
- Experience with Graphic tools: Adobe Creative Suite
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS
- Knowledge with cloud providers (AWS and Azure)
- Experience with waterfall, agile, and blended software development methodologies
- Experience using project management and source control tools
- Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that websites will adhere to them
- Experience with WordPress 5+ (not off-the-shelf templates but custom development): theme/plugin development, comfort with the Block Editor and building custom block & post types; experience with Advanced Custom Fields, WooCommerce, Gravity Forms, and Yoast SEO are also an asset
